Address book, Life and Character of James A. Garfield, President of the United States" by

James G. Blaine from February 27th 1882 Hard Cover Book, This copy remains in Very Good

condition - Decorated Covers are Bright, Secure with minor wear and soiling .... Hinges are

firm .......Internal pages are tight, a bit darkened. Altogether Very Good. 87 page book

produced in Washington by the GovernmentPrinting Office, Garfield portrait engraved by

Lorenzo Hatch. Engraving with a bit of minor foxing from the protective sheet between the

Title Page and the Frontispiece 95.00

FB 1900A National Capitol Centennial Card, 10 1/2 x 8 1/2" this engraving first appeared in 1900, and has been

reused numerous times in Engravers Union Convention Books with the text changed $150.00

FSO 1900B National Capitol Centennial book, The Capitol dome engraving has a catalog value of $300,

plus this book contains 6 forerunner semi official engraved cards (FSO 1900Ba-f), Book binding

is a little loose, engravings in VF condition 175.00

Memorial Address on the Life and Character of William McKinley" by Hon. John Hay, delivered before

the Two Houses of Congress on February 27, 1902, printed by the Government Printing Office,

Washington, D.C., 1903. The approx. size is 9 1/2" x 12" with 246 pages. Fine condition.

Photogravure portrait of McKinley. Could McKinley have imagined that less than 20 years after

his friend and commanding officer in the Civil War (Garfield) was shot, that he would end up

another martyred president. 55.00

1924 Woodrow Wilson Memorial Address Book, printed by the Govt, Printing Office, with non

More Intaglio Cards

These were printed in the early to late 90's by several different printing companies from hand

engraved steel dies I purchased from engravers. Some were made by the engravers and others were

antique dies they had acquired. These original hand engraved dies are for sale P.O.R.

 

"The Old Oaken Bucket" REPRINT featuring the Roger's homestead. "This engraving shows the

present (1905) condition of one of the oldest houses in Connecticut..." The Roger's homestead

is a lovely salt box house built c.1650. If your friends don't like engravings, they are likely to

love this 10x10" Mike Bean intaglio spider proof which includes an advertisement for Lennox

Creameries. 50 sets of 5 colors (250 prints in all) were proofed from the original A. E. Wright

Banknote Co. plate, $20 each, set of 5 95.00

Turn of the century (c.1899) blank eagle stock certificate REPRINT, 10x8" 1,000 green and 1,000

black were printed, set of 2 12.00

A different turn of the century (c.1899) blank eagle stock certificate REPRINT, 8x5 ¾" 1,000 were

printed. Some of these were overprinted for use by the American Lung Association in 1993, set

of 3 cards (with and without overprint, and text only) 12.00

Turn of the century (c.1899) "Venetian Silk" REPRINT showing a gondola and San Marco's Square

Yves Baril: Canada's Greatest Engraver

Yves Baril, Canada's most prolific engraver, first series, set of 3, Baril apprentiship "Eagle" (from

1961 US interest bearing note), "Mexican scene" (a proposed design for the reverse of the 1969

5 peso banknote), and "Cargo on the Levee". Each card is 8x6" 5,000 of each was printed in

black, and 1,000 of each in colors.

John Wallace

John Wallace, engraver of dozens of US and worldwide postage stamps, including more duck

hunting stamps than enyone else. His primary work had been stock certificate vignettes. Set of 3,

Benjamin Franklin from a painting by Duplessis, Woman with globe, and Man with test tube and

factory, 8x10", 1000 of each were printed in black.
